Daud Abdirahman
Daud joined us in 2022 and as a former elite Footballer, combines his passion of sport with his interest and expertise in Podiatric Sport Injuries.
Daud’s interest to become a Podiatrist and specialise in biomechanics and sport injuries is rooted in personal experience. It began whilst was he competing in high level sport. He trialled for England and was signed for QPR under 21’s and Reading Football Club. A serious back injury forced him out of competition and the biomechanics specialist, who helped him walk again, suggested he considers a career in Foot Health and Podiatry.
The rest as they say is history and he now incorporated his skills, knowledge and experience with pain, injuries, training, conditioning and psychology to help anyone who has issues to get the best possible outcomes rapidly and effectively.
After qualifying in 2018, he began his career a as an extended scope senior Podiatrist at Guys & St Thomas’s Hospital.
Having acquired a wealth of experience he went on to take on additional roles including, clinical supervisor for Immunisations during Covid, clinical tutor and supervisor for podiatry students at Brighton and East London University’s and as a career advisor on Foot Health to local 6th Form colleges.
Daud is an expert in Nail & Skin Surgery, Wound Management, maintaining a high level of general foot and ankle care and has a special interest in biomechanics (understanding why we experience pain or injury when we walk or run) for treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
Furthermore he continues his passion for sport and uses his spare time to coach young, up and coming children and shares his experience, his skills and his passion in sports and health rehabilitation to nurture new talent.
As a multilingual speaker in Swahili, Arabic, Somali and English, he is able to bring a new dimension of care and is able to tailor his language and communication skills to suit the growing needs of our multicultural patient demographics.
