FIVE MORE STEPS TO FABULOUS FEELING FEET IN 2017
On November last year, we shared with our readers five simple to follow steps to help you look after your feet so they can look after you. Here are five more tips, which if you resolve to do, will stand you in good stead for the New Year and many years to come.
If you have to wear heels at work, wear comfortable shoes to and from the office and only wear your smart shoes once you’re in the office. Also, try to vary the heel height, between low, medium and high and limit the time you wear them.
Be shoe savvy
Wear high heels and pointed shoes for special occasions only, and always wear the right shoes for the job (so no sandals for mountain climbing or flip flops for playing football).
Change your socks often
Change your socks daily to avoid foot odour. Sounds obvious but it’s a simple thing to do which is often overlooked.
Watch out for foot bugs in communal changing areas
Wear flip-flops to avoid catching athlete’s foot and verrucas when you use public areas such as gym showers, swimming pools or hotel bathrooms.
Take care with flip flops
Flip-flops are useful but don’t wear them all the time. They don’t provide support for your feet and can give you arch and heel pain if you wear them too much.
Foot pain advice for over-60s
If you’re over 60, foot care becomes even more important. Age takes its toll: your skin thins, your joints begin to stiffen and your feet become more vulnerable to the cold. We have decades of experience in looking after people’s feet from energetic toddlers to lively 90 year-olds.
We wish all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
